About Holden, MO - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The Village of Holden is home to about 2,300 residents and is situated in Missouri’s Johnson County. Named for Major Nathaniel Holden, a local politician responsible for bringing the railroad to the area, Holden was founded in 1857. The village is situated about 52 miles southeast of Kansas City and 120 miles west of the state capital of Jefferson City.

While there are no major attractions located in Holden, the community is home to some important businesses. There are several dining establishments for residents or visitors to enjoy, including El Paso, 2nd Street Bistro, and Andale Amigo Mexican Restaurant. The local grocery stores are IGA-Lloyd’s Foods and Yoss Bros., and convenience items can be picked up at Casey’s General Store. Visitors in need of a gift might like to stop at Sandy’s Jewelry, while homeowners who hope to revamp their space might like to contact Glass Design, LLC. There are also many golf courses in the area, including Mules National Gulf Course in Warrensburg.

Summers in Holden tend to be humid and hot, which is common for a humid continental climate. Average highs reach the mid-80s, but thermostat readings well into the 90s are also possible. To stay comfortable, Holden area residents invest in central air conditioning systems to keep indoor temperatures cool. These units will also benefit residents with asthma and allergies, as new units are highly efficient when it comes to improving indoor air quality.

Holden winters are cold and can be quite snowy depending on the year. January highs reach about 35 degrees Fahrenheit, although there are many days when thermostat readings exceed the freezing point. An electric or gas furnace is a crucial investment, especially when temperatures fall into the teens or single digits overnight. Without an investment in the right climate controls, both homes and businesses could be at risk of freeze-related damage.
